Manassas Superintendent Gail Pope outlined their districts plans this week to reevaluate curriculum and prepare students for life in the 21st century. According to the Washington Post, Pope said several initiatives taking shape will make Manassas students more competitive in the global economy. One of these programs includes having students participate in FIRST competitions. Due in part to a $5,000 grant from the Micron Foundation, students will be able to participate in the FIRST Lego League to design, build and program a robot created with Lego products. Read more about the districts plans, Micron's grant and other initiatives in yesterday's Washington Post article.
