On Monday, November 3rd, Micron Technology Inc. and Infineon Technologies AG announced a collaboration to develop a storage solution for HD-SIM cards. The solution addresses mobile carriers’ drive for greater SIM storage capacity and helps enable new features and mobile application capabilities. The joint solution leverages Micron’s serial NAND and Infineon’s microcontroller technology. It is designed to be integrated into HD-SIM cards, enabling them to effectively reach beyond 128MB while providing streamlined system design, better power management and simplified migration from current NOR-based solutions.
